Dear Mrs. Duenas,
I am looking forward to having a great time at Mission Springs. I didn’t even know about it untill I began 6th grade!I have seen pictures of banana slugs on students’ noses on the yearbooks though. I know that it must be as exciting as it seems because my friend Sherya was jumping up and down reminding me over and over about the fact that she was going to Mission Springs all week, before she left for it. I hope to see the monarch butterflies and find shells on the beach. Hannah from Mixer’s choir told me that the rooms were like Hotel 6, but I’d like to see this for myself. I also hope to learn many things about science and nature. I know I will have a lot of fun…Mission Springs will rule!!!

Mrs. Duenas, I am looking forward to a great year. This year I look forward to achieving all my goals for elementary school while I’m still here. I will strive to gain 2,000 AR points this year, continue earning straight A’s, go above and beyond, and always try my best. Math is my best subject, since I always try my best at it, but reading is my favorite. Sometimes I feel that I don’t do well enough at it because I usually have a tough time at the Star Reading Test on computer to figure out my ZPD. I also have trouble on the CST because there are usually two good answers and I always think that I will choose the wrong one. I’ve been trying not to procrastinate on practice, schoolwork, and other things since third grade, but I always have problems. I am hoping that I will learn this year, so it will be my main goal along with organization, responsibility, and scheduling at home. I have many hobbies that I don’t do well at. I wish to accomplish many things this year, but I hope to achieve those particular goals. I am hoping for many things this year and I look forward to having you as a great teacher. This year I am looking forward to Learning about ancient Egypt! I love to learn about history! So it is going to be very exciting for me. Also I am looking forward to writing assignments because I love to use my imagination to create something like a story. The last thing I am looking forward to is going to Mission Springs because it will be a great learning experience but it will be fun and exciting to.

This year I have many goals. One goal in school is that I hope to make a lot of new friends. My other goal is that I hope to make everyone feel good and happy! For example if someone was just walking around by themselves at recess I would go up to them and try to be friendly because I wouldn’t want to walk around at recess without any friends and I don’t think that anyone would. I try to use the Golden Rule as much as I can!
Academically I also have many goals. One of my many goals is to get All A’s. I really would like to accomplish this goal so That I can have the satisfaction of knowing I worked hard to reach that goal. My second goal is to read more novels. I really want to try to read the Nicholas Spark series like The Notebook and At First Sight and The Sarah Dessen books. I love to read, but usually I am too busy. So I am trying to get more time in to read. It’s my favorite subject and I really enjoy it because you almost escape into your own imaginary world.
This year as a person and student I hope to accomplish a couple of diverse things One I hope to treat everyone as I want to be treated (Always use the Golden Rule). For example I wouldn’t want someone to step on my lunch box so why would I do it to them. It’s just common sense. As a student I hope to accomplish things like studying when I don’t get something and asking Mrs. Duenas in the classroom if I don’t get something instead of getting home and having no idea what to do for homework. So basically I’m working on asking questions when I need to.

I’m looking forward to almost everything this year: Mission springs, projects, and even homework! Really! I’ve been doing so many fun things this summer; I NEED school! Some of my goals in school is to get a District Honor Roll award. I would also like to finish my accelerated project so I could get extra credit in math. I would also like to get Principal’s List for the first time and I can only do that if I organize myself which I am planning on doing! One of my favorite things to do in school is writing. I’m actually trying to finish a book so I could send it to my uncle in Iraq. He’s coming soon and I want it to be perfect! When I get older I want to accomplish my writing career and some day when I’ve already written enough books to pay for my mansion in Laguna Beach I want to become a world class Gymnast! But let us skip back a few steps. Before I become a writer and win a gold medal in gymnastics I want to go to a collage close to home so I’m close to my family for holidays. When I’m finished with my long hard years in college, I want to get my own apartment, start with a blog, and then a book. Then when I pay for my house in Laguna Beach, I will go practice at the closest gymnastics gym and go to nationals and get ranked the number one gymnast in America and win a gold medal in gymnastics. Now I think your getting tired of hearing about my accomplishments and goals so I’ll stop now. Thank you for givig me a few moments of your time!

I can’t even think about the fact that I am even alive when I think about how much we will be doing this year in sixth grade. When my sister, April, was in sixth grade she told me about EVERYTHING!!! My favorite part was when she told us about her time at Mission Springs. Now that I am going, I am ecstatic! The one thing I am looking forward to the most there is hanging out with all my friends and having fun! And mealtime…

My goal in school this year is to improve my handwriting. Handwriting is one of the most important things. If you can’t read an essay to grade it you might as well have not written it at all! It is also how a teacher can tell if you have worked hard on something, or just copied it off someone else’s paper in five minutes.

My goals for grades are straight A’s. I have gotten them for three years straight! I love getting a report card and knowing I worked as hard as I could to achieve that A. It would also be nice to get that plaque at the end of the year, to show my achievements, of course!

All in all I think this year will be a great year, and last, at Foulks Ranch!

I am very excited that you are my teacher this year!!! I know this year will be great!! I am looking forward to going to Mission Springs. My sister went and she had a blast. I am also excited and scared to put the banana slug on my face. Emileigh (my sister) said it moves a lot and is very, very slimy. I really want to see the butterflies because I love butterflies. It will be great to take some time away from school and have so much fun. I know I will have a blast. Some of my goals are to pay attention in class and not get distracted. I also want to get district honor roll. I want to accomplish being more focused and take my time on my homework. I know we will have a great year together.

There are so many things I am looking forward to this year. I am excited to learn about Greek gods, but I am not sure why I am so interested in them. I think it is because of a book I read called “The Sea of Monsters”. I am also looking forward to going to Mission Springs. I really like science so it would be exciting to go to science camp. Plus I like camping and hiking. I am also excited to have a great teacher like Mrs. Duenas. This year I hope to get straight A’s all year.

What I’m look forward this year is a lot of things. One: in the 3rd trimester like you said like there will be no real line-up lines. You have to learn that there are no lines in 7th grade. I like that. The other thing I wanted to do is promote from 6th grade because I will get my phone! So those are the things I’m look forward to in 6th grade.

My goal in school or in 6th grade is to get straight A’s. When I get straight A’s, I can get my phone! Plus this will be my first year or ever in my life to get straight A’s the whole year. I saw my sisters’ plaques on their walls. I see two of them and I told myself that I really want one. It is very cool and it will show that I have accomplished something in my life. I want to get straight A’s before I leave this school and I know you can help me get that. Thanks Mrs. Duenas!

What I hope to do as a student is to be a good student leader and I will try to be a good student and I will try my best. I hope I will be a good student. My sisters had told me that you were a great teacher and I was ok…I finally saw how good you are and I realize that you are a great teacher because back then I didn’t know who you were. I really want to get all advanced on my Star test but I can’t get it without your help! Thank you for reading all my paragraphs and listened to what I wanted to accomplish this year! Thank you =)

I am very excited to be in your class this year. While I don’t have a brother or sister that has been in your class, I hear that lots of people that have had you as their teacher. They have enjoyed you as a teacher, so I am looking forward to that.

I have always liked social studies geography and a little bit of writing. I am not as good in math and language arts as I want to be, but I am improving.

This year I want to at least get honor roll all year. But ,I want to get Principal’s List badly. I never have got it so it would be a first. For AR, I want at least 300 points at the end of the year. For accelerated and leadership, I’d like to get 50 hours of service. I don’t want to flip a card this year.

I want to be an airport executive when I grow up. I have liked airports and airplanes since I was 5.

I hope to have a good year with you as your student.
